The Manu National Park, located in southeastern Peru (between the regions of Cusco and Madre de Dios) is one of the largest tropical parks in South America. It covers two million hectares (4.5 million acres), and the territory is rich in flora and fauna with a wide variety of habitats, including the high Andes, rain forests, and rain forests of plains. In 1977, the Manu National Park was declared a World Biological Reserve, home to otters, jaguars, caimans, approximately 13 species of primates and about 1000 species of birds as well as 10% of the vascular plant species in the world, including several species of figs and palms and innumerable species of medicinal plants, which are being investigated by scientists. The Manu National Park can be considered the park with the greatest biological diversity and the most protected on the planet.

Early in the morning we will pick up our passengers, we will start an 8 hour trip in our tourist transport and we will pass through the Andes, we will make a stop in the wonderful colonial town of Paucartambo, we will have a time to have breakfast or buy some missing things. Continuing, we climb to the highest point of the Manu Biosphere at about 4000 masl before descending into the cloud forest. In these mysterious surroundings, we walk to look for the incredible Cock of the Rock, to see the "performance" of the males before our eyes. We will spend the night in a rustic hostel Posada San Pedro (1,600 m).
Early in the morning we will continue our trip by bus to the lowland rainforest. Here, in the small village Atalaya, at 650 m, we change to a motorized canoe to sail for about 40 minutes along the fast river Alto Madre de Dios until we reach one of the few lakes in the Alto Madre de Dios river. You can walk in traditional small rafts and admire the enormous variety of birds of the tropical forest. Usually, the water is clean enough to observe many tropical fish, and it is common to see monkeys in the trees around the lake. In the afternoon, we return by boat on the Alto Madre de Dios river to Atalaya. On the way back to the cloud forest by bus, we stop at an orchid garden, set up with much care and enthusiasm by a local resident. We will spend the night at Posada San Pedro hostel.
Early in the morning we have another walk in the forest; As always it is full of life, we can observe many birds, monkeys, insects, trees and plants. We will walk until our transportation reaches us and takes us back to Cusco, we will be arriving at approximately 18:00 pm.
