Live a unique experience in private service, in the festivities in honor of the patron saint of Paucartambo: the Virgen del Carmen. Also known traditionally as Mamacha Carmen, the Virgin is a cause for celebration for thousands of parishioners and visitors from all over the country who express their devotion to Mamacha in exchange for its blessing and protection. Currently the Virgen del Carmen, is a Cultural Heritage of the Nation.
At 06:00hrs we look for our passengers in their hotel in Cusco in our private transport to Paucartambo located approximately 3 hours from Cusco, we will make a small stop in Ninamarca and continue our tour. Upon arrival in Paucartambo, we will see how the inhabitants of the area pay homage to the Virgen del Carmen with beautiful altars, dances and traditional songs, as well as taste the different dishes offered by the locals during these holidays (not included). In the evening, we will go to Ajanacu about 50 minutes from Paucartambo, where we will camp and spend the night.
This day, we will wait for the sunrise and after breakfast, we pack our things to go back to Paucartambo to enjoy the Central Day in honor of the Virgen del Carmen. We will be able to witness the spectacular procession and the different dances, music and comparsas, in addition to trying the different traditional dishes that are for sale. In the afternoon, we will take our transportation back to Cusco, arriving in the city at approximately 19:00hrs.
