The trek of three days in the Colca canyon is for hikers with some level of experience who don't have time and they want to reach the bottom of the canyon; the two days the hikers have early wake ups. The first day trek is around 7 hours with trails down hill, flat and up hill, second day trek 3 hours up hill.
We pick you up from your hotel and we depart from Arequipa, almost 6 hrs driving to Cabanaconde (Colca Canyon). After lunch the trekking down hill starts from (3300mt) to reach the bottom (3 hours and a half aproximatly) at an altitude of 2100 mt. We have dinner and we stay over night in the San Juan de Chuccho village (place of tropical environment with a lot of vegetation), the accommodation here is in basic rooms (local family´s places).
After breakfast we walk up hill to Tapay town; to see some pre-inca ruins. We continue down hill to Cosñirhua town It´s a nice place where you can see and taste honey and produced of local people. It is posible to see archeological remains around the area left by pre-Inca cultures. Going flat we reach Malata town with its very old spanish church design, then we descend to the deepest part of our trek 1900 mt. "Sangalle Village", place to enjoy the swimming pool of 20º C water. Dinner and overnight stay in bungalows made of bamboo.
We trek up hill to Cabanaconde Town under torch lights (3 hours approximately). Arrival and breakfast in Cabanaconde. Transport to the most visited point in the Colca Valley the "Cruz Del Condor", time to see the condors soaring around. After we continue back to Chivay on the way we are going to have a great view of pre-Inca terraces, some archeological places and colonial towns among others views. Arrival to Chivay towards the hot springs of "la Calera", 38°C temperature. We have a typical lunch of the region. Transport back to Arequipa. On the way we descend from 4830 to 2325 and pass through a National Reserve and Pampa Cañahuas habitat of the four kinds of south American camelides (llama, alpaca, vicuña and guanaco). Arrival to Arequipa.
