Live an incredible experience in the festivities in honor of the patron saint of Paucartambo: the Virgen del Carmen. Also known traditionally as Mamacha Carmen, the Virgin is a cause for celebration for thousands of parishioners and visitors from all over the country who express their devotion to Mamacha in exchange for its blessing and protection. Currently the Virgen del Carmen, is Cultural Patrimony of the Nation.
Departure from Cusco at 13:00hrs to Paucartambo located approximately 3 hours from Cusco, during the tour we will observe the famous chullpas of Ninamarca and continue through the colonial bridge Carlos III to Paucartambo, considered the Folkloric Province of Peru in Honor to the Virgin of Carmen. We will enjoy the tributes to the Virgin of Carmen and also, we will be able to taste the different plates that the locals offer during these holidays (not included); at midnight we will begin the journey of 3 hours towards "The Three Crosses" where we will wait for the Sunrise.
*There is no place for overnight established, you will rest on the transport during the travel.
We will return to Paucartambo for breakfast (not included) and have the morning free to explore the area. At noon, we will go to the temple to participate in the Central Mass and in the beautiful procession of the Patron Saint of Paucartambo: Virgen del Carmen, we will be surrounded by different traditional dances and songs. Around 15:00hrs, we will board our transport to return to Cusco, where we will arrive at 18:00hrs approximately.
