There is no better way to smell, feel and live the essence of the Peruvian Andes, than from an exclusive Alpaca Ranch in the Heart of the High Plateau or “Altiplano”. Meet the Alpaca Herds, learn about these animals and enjoy nature at its most, with your private guide in one of the most remote, least-visited regions in Peru, and return to the fire of the cozy Hacienda-House at dusk, to enjoy the vast, timeless Andean Night.
Today you leave Puno and continue your trip towards the next destination, the exclusive Alpaca ranch. Remote dirt tracks guide you to the comfortable hacienda. In the afternoon, Moises, our ranch manager and Alpaca expert, gives you a short introduction to the alpaca breeding and the purpose of the ranch. Then you may be in the mood for a short walk along native-tree forests, for a horseback ride to a small lagoon, or perhaps for a quiet rest in the house terrace. No matter what you choose, the lonely and peaceful landscapes amaze you with their breathtaking beauty. At night you enjoy a delicious dinner and have the chance to gather around a nice warm fire.

Day 2: ALPACA RANCH
The recommendation for today is to get up really early and watch the sunrise over the “altiplano”. After a succulent breakfast you may ride on our short but strong horses and start your way to find one of the Alpaca Herds in the heights of the ranch. If you are not a horse person, we will be glad to drive you in one of our 4WD vehicles to the boundaries of the ranch. After lunch and a well deserved rest, the horses or vehicle are ready for you to start the short way to Sorani. There you have the chance to learn more about the Alpaca investigation towards the achievement of better alpaca breeding techniques.
